Opening an account

  • Simply click on any of the Register buttons which you'll find throughout our website and then complete the form. Once you've done that, you'll be logged directly into the Absolut Ability client area. You'll then see a pop-up message asking you to change the password. Go ahead and do that. Then go check your email inbox as we would have sent you and email with your username and the new password you created.

  • No, absolutely not. You can open a live or a demo trading account with us absolutely free. If you're going to be opening a live trading account and you want to trade, you will need to make an initial deposit.

  • Unfortunately you can't at this time. You can only open one live trading account with us. You can open a demo and a live trading account, however.

  • Trading Forex and CFDs involves risk, just like with any investment. Please go ahead and read our risk warning here. The information contained in our website and throughout our disclosure documents is of a general nature only, and does not take into account your personal circumstances, financial situation or needs. If you're looking to make easy money, then trading Forex isn't for you. Please go ahead and read through our Client Agreement carefully. As we say to all our traders, please go and seek independent advice before deciding whether trading Forex and CFDs is suitable for you.

  • If you've already got yourself a Absolut Ability trading account, you'll need to make sure you have equity in your account. This means that you have funds in which to trade with, unless you're looking to trade with a demo account. Before you can fund your account, you're going to have to provide all the KYC (Know Your Client) documentation and have your trading account approved by our Back Office Team. Once you have an approved Absolut Ability trading account which has funds in it, you can start trading via the Absolut Ability trading platform.

  • Yes you can, although we do advise that you first try trading on our demo accounts. If you're eager to get started, we also advise you to check out our Education Center, and go through our videos, eBooks and articles. Once you're confident that you can trade, go ahead and get started. If at any time you need assistance, feel free to reach out to the Absolut Ability Customer Care Team or to your Account Manager. We are by your side the entire time and we want you to be successful.

  • To avoid any issues, please only use letters and numbers when filling in the registration form.

  • We'll never close your trading account, zero balance or otherwise, unless you request us to do so in writing.

  • We believe in the fairness of trading and because of this belief, we offer Negative Balance Protection. What is Negative Balance Protection (NBP)? Negative Balance Protection will prevent you from falling into debt. We've noticed that not all Forex brokers offer NBP, which is a shame, as many inexperienced traders run the risk of falling into debt.

If the market plunges and your account doesn't have the necessary margin requirements, you will lose your invested funds and will also owe money to the broker you're trading with. Here at Absolut Ability, this cannot happen as we do offer Negative Balance Protection.

As a Forex trader, you know that you won't win on every trade you place, but what you don't want to do is end up owing the broker you're trading with money. With Absolut Ability, you can have complete peace of mind that our Negative Balance Protection scheme will prevent you from owing us money if the markets turns against you.

  • Simply click on the "Forgot Password" link which sits directly underneath the login box. Enter your email and in a couple of seconds, we'll send you an automated forgotten password email. Go ahead and follow the directions given in the email and you'll reset your password in no time at all. If you have any other issues with your password, please reach out to your Account Manager or the Absolut Ability Customer Care Team immediately.

  • If you want to change your password, you're going to have to login to your Absolut Ability client area. Once you've logged in, click on Account Details, then Change Password. Add in your current password, followed by your new password and save. Your new password is now in play.

  • No, as the trading account is in your name and we don't offer Account Management services yet. You are the sole owner of the trading account and all trading decisions need to come from you. Our Account Managers cannot even offer you trading advice, let alone trade on your behalf.

  • As our trading platform is web-based, you don't need to download it. Simply click here, login and start trading on your browser or your phone or tablet.

  • No, we don't offer MT4 at this time. If things change, we'll let you know. Simply get in touch with our Customer Care Team here and let them know that you wish to notified if we add MT4 to our list of trading platforms.

  • As soon as you've opened a live trading account with us and made a minimum deposit, you can go ahead and get a risk-free demo account. You can access the link to your demo account in the Absolut Ability client area.

  • In the Absolut Ability client area, simply click on My Account Section and then click on the Switch button.

  • Nearly everything is the same when it comes to the real and the demo account. The key difference is that the demo account can never fully emulate the conditions of a real-life trading account. The market conditions are not real in a demo account, and the reason for this is that the volumes initiated within a demo account cannot affect the market as these are fake volumes.

  • We automatically fund your demo trading account 7 days after you register.

  • The good news is that Absolut Ability demo trading accounts never expire, unlike other brokers who have them expire after a certain period of time.

Bonuses

  • Traders points are trading volume indicators. They are calculated per traded position amount and are accumulated each time you close CFD positions.
    CFDs calculation method:
For example, You bought 100,000 EURUSD, the value of the position is converted to your account nominated currency. Therefore, if your account currency is USD, the value of the position will be converted to USD using the real time EURUSD conversation rate. Let’s assume the EURUSD conversation rate is 1.07 therefore 100,000 EUR * 1.0700 = 107,000 USD. The USD ($) value of the position is now multiplied by 0.001%, which eventually entitles you with 1.07 trader points (107,000 USD * 0.001% = 1.07 trader points).
Please note, the example above describes a case where your account currency is USD.

  • Yes. In order to maintain a certain account status, you must accumulate a minimum monthly sum of traders points, depending on your account type. You can simply return to any account status by fulfilling the monthly traders points requirement for that account level as long as you meet the minimum deposit criteria or by making the minimum required deposits that will automatically upgrade you to the next account level.

The monthly amount of traders points required to maintain account types:

    BASIC 0

    BRONZE 5

    SILVER 15

    GOLD 64

    PLATINUM 165

    BLACK 665

  • A pending money bonus, when granted, is not added to your account right away. Instead, there is a requirement of specific trading volume that needs to be generated for it to be released into your trading account (before expiration). With this, your account does not have any additional restrictions upon withdrawing. To view your current bonus requirements, check out our Bonus Terms and Conditions.

  • You can easily check your pending bonus status on the trading platform:
    1. Click the Trading Room button (located on the upper right-hand side).
    2. Click the Reports link (located under the Deposit button).
    3. Select the Bonus Report tab.
    4. Monitor the Points Achieved column to track the volume accumulated daily, and subtract it from the Points Requirement column to understand how many traders points are needed.
Please take into consideration the expiry date for each pending bonus. To get the bonus expiry date, contact your account manager.

  • Before the trading volume is met, your pending bonus is segregated from your available funds and is not available for trading or withdrawing.

  • Our Refer a friend program is an exclusive reward program in which an Absolut Ability trader invites his friends to trade with us. When the referred friends become traders, the referrer is rewarded with referral bonuses.

  • Entering the program is simple. You send your contacts an invitation link via Facebook, Twitter, Google + and email. In addition, you can also enter your friends’ details and we invite them for you. On each deposit of up to 1,999 your friends make, you get 200 in referral bonus. On deposits of 2,000 and up you get 300 in referral bonus.
These sums refer to the currency used in your account (USD, GBP, EUR).

  • To be eligible for the referral bonus, your referred friend must make a deposit within 120 days of the referral date. You’ll be able to redeem your referral bonus once the referred friend opened 8 positions or reached a 0 balance on his account. Read the full terms and conditions here.

  • We are a regulated Forex and CFDs broker and being such means that we need to adhere to various regulations, one of which is the Anti-Money laundering and Identity Theft mandates. We also need your documents as our Compliance department needs to run KYC (Know Your Client) checks on each and every person who wants to trade with us.

  • Once you've uploaded your documents to us using your trading account and going to Account Options, then Account Verification, we'll review your documents and when your account is approved, it'll automatically become verified. Deposits

  • The minimum we expect from any serious trader and investor is $250. We do, from time to time run promotions that allows new traders to deposit less than $250, but think about it, you're trading as a way to invest in your future. The more you invest, the higher the returns are likely to be.

  • The good news is that you'll receive a 100% bonus on your first deposit, which is subject to our promotions and bonus terms and conditions. For more information, please contact our Absolut Ability Customer Care Team. We're here and ready to help.

  • No, we don't. Deposits or payments made from a third party aren't accepted. Deposits into your Absolut Ability account should be done from your own bank account, your own credit or debit card, or from your own eWallet.

Trading information

  • During Day Light saving times, the market trading hours are from Sunday 21:00 GMT till Friday 21:00 GMT. During the winter time, the market trading hours are from Sunday 22:00 GMT till Friday 22:00 GMT. There are some trading instruments that are available all the time such as Cryptocurrency CFDs. You can learn more about the trading hours of each instrument here.

  • Just like all the financial markets, Absolut Ability is closed on weekends. You can't trade on financial platforms during the weekends, unless you want to trade Cryptocurrency CFDs, which are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

  • We advise you to read through our Education Center thoroughly before you actually trade. After you're confident and you want to get accustomed to our Absolut Ability trading platform, you can open your Absolut Ability account and start trading confidently.

  • Due to the nature of the markets and the big amounts of leverage (you can trade with no leverage if you want to), trading Forex and CFDs involves risk. Read through the Absolut Ability full risk warning here. The information on our website as well as in our disclosure documents is of a general nature only. It doesn't take into account your personal circumstances, financial situation or needs. You should definitely consider the contents of our Client Agreement, and seek independent financial advice before deciding whether trading high risk financial products such as Forex and CFDs is suitable for you.

  • To start trading with Absolut Ability, you need a computer or a mobile connected to a high-speed internet connection. You can use your iPhone or iPad, Android mobile device, a Windows-based PC or a Mac to trade. You'll then need to fund your Absolut Ability trading account. We strongly advise you to go through our Education Center and understand it completely before you start live trading.

  • If you made a small deposit, let's say $250, you can't open a big position on a trade without using leverage. We provide you with leverage and the amount of leverage differs between traders. We can allow you to trade with up to 400 times your investment (400:1). This means that if you have equity of $1,000 (the amount you deposited or the amount you have in your account due to a winning trade), your $1,000 can become $400,000 with leverage of 1:400.

Leverage is risky because it is a two way street or two edge sword. As much as it helps you raise your buying power, it can cause you to lose all your deposited capital. So use leverage wisely and make sure you speak with your Absolut Ability Account Manager about the risks involved.

  • Leverage allows you to open a much larger trading position, but it can also mean that you lose all your invested capital, even if you do implement the various risk management strategies we offer. If the market is extremely volatile, there is a small chance of negative slippage, and if this happens, there's a chance your risk management tools won't kick in when they're supposed to.

  • No. The leverage ratio is a fixed amount and set by default. If you do want to change the amount of leverage you're trading with, speak with your Absolut Ability Account Manager.

  • When we talk about pips, they are the smallest unit of change in a financial instrument's price ratio, which is the rate of a currency pair such as EUR/USD.

  • A spread is the difference between the Bid price and the Ask price.

  • When you buy an instrument, you are opening a long position, which means you believe the market price of the instrument will go up. When you are selling an instrument, then you're opening a short position. This means you believe the market price of the said instrument will drop.

  • Here's the simple formula for calculating the value of 1 pip:

Amount of the Base Currency x Pips = Value in the Quote Currency
    The value of 1 pip in EUR/USD = 1 Lot (€100 000) x 0.0001 = $10
    The value of 1 pip in USD/CHF = 1 Lot ($100 000) x 0.0001 = 10 CHF
    The value of 1 pip in EUR/JPY = 1 Lot (€100 000) x 0.01 = 1,000 JPY

  • When the markets are highly volatile, slippage may occur. If there's a breaking piece of really important economic news, this can cause slippage to occur. Slippage causes your position to be executed at a different rate than the one you'd assigned either in your Stop Loss or Take Profit orders. Let's take a look at this example of how slippage works. In this example, the market price of one Google share is $540. When the markets are closed, Google announces a big loss of profits. The market then opens up the next day with one Google share having a price point of $400. That's a huge drop!

  • There are a few ways to manage your risk during market volatility. The best way is to ensure your trading account has sufficient margin at all times. We also recommend these precautionary measures:

✔ Always monitor the status of your open positions
✔ Never forget to specify a Stop Loss to limit downside risk
✔ Always keep your trading account funded in excess of your required margin

  • Limit orders are also known as Take Profit orders, and they tell our trading platform to buy or sell a set amount of a financial instrument at a specified price or better.

  • Simply login to your Absolut Ability trading account, click on Account Options > Funds Management > Monetary History or Activity Report to see your trading history.

  • A Stop Loss and Take Profit orders make up part of your risk management strategy. You place these orders to close an open position. "Stop Loss" is there to prevent you losing more on a failing trade, while “Take Profit” is the opposite of a Stop Loss in that you close an order after you have gained the profit you wanted to make.

  • To set both a Stop Loss and a Take Profit order, simply access the Edit Position pop up box and do the following:

✔ Create a Take Profit position by selecting Close at profit and specifying a triggering Rate or an Amount
✔ Create a Stop Loss position by selecting Close at loss and specifying a triggering Rate or an Amount

  • The Absolut Ability Team will inform all our premium clients in the case of a margin call being triggered. Your margin is being constantly monitored in real time, and we do this so that you know where you stand at all times. Margin calls can often result in your open positions being automatically closed if your available margin deposit drops below margin requirements for that particular instrument.

  • Some of the instruments on offer here at Absolut Ability are traded based on underlying futures contracts. Those instruments have a specific expiry date at which all the open deals and limit orders are automatically closed.

  • For any instruments that have expiration dates, simply click the Details tab that belongs to the instrument to find the expiration date.

  • A trend is the general direction of a market or the price of an asset. Trends can vary in length from short to intermediate, to long term. If you want to find out more about trends, check out our daily Market Analysis news.

  • Support and resistance make up technical analysis, and they're concepts that the movement of a security price will tend to stop and reverse at predetermined price levels. Our Market Analysis Team discuss the importance of support and resistance levels daily.

  • Your Available Balance is the amount available that's to be used as Initial Margin. Here's the formula:

    (Equity) – (Used Margin)

Equity, on the other hand takes into account your deposits, less your withdrawals, plus your P&L. Here's the formula for calculating your trading account equity:

    Deposits - Withdrawals+ Bonus + Closed P&L + Open P&L

  • To keep any of your new trading positions open, the equity of your trading account must exceed the total Maintenance Margin Level. Please note that the Maintenance Margin Level requirements change depending on the financial instrument you're going to be trading. Absolut Ability always displays the Maintenance Margin level for each individual instrument and does this in real-time.

  • Your P&L is your total Profit & Loss and it's denominated in your trading account's base currency.

  • Simply click on Account Options > Funds Management > Monetary Report in your trading platform.

  • The High/Low indicator signifies the Highest Bid and Lowest Ask reached during the present trading day.

  • You can open new trading positions if there's sufficient equity in your trading account. Another reason is that you need to trade the instruments during the hours when it's traded on a public exchange.

  • In the Absolut Ability platform, you can find the trading hours of an instrument when you click on the said instrument's Details.

  • Please contact the Absolut Ability Customer Care Team or your dedicated Account Manager.

  • You can add any instrument to your favorites list by clicking on the star icon that's next to the said instrument.

Fees & Commissions

  • Simply put, a spread is the difference between the bid and the ask price of any financial instrument.
To see the Spread value for each instrument, check out our CFDs list.

  • If you keep a position open after a specific time, which is approximately after 22:00GMT (21:00DST), you are charged a premium. To see the premium you're going to be charged, you can find the cost in the Absolut Ability trading platform under the "Details" section. This premium covers the benefit/ cost of the associated funding. It's good to note that trade settlements occur two business days after the trading day (opening/ closure of a position). The day of settlement is also called the "value day". You can see the Premium Sell and the Premium Buy charges for each instrument on our CFDs list.

  • If there hasn’t been any trade executed in your account within 60 days, your account will be subjected to a dormant account administrative fee of 400. The fees will be deducted from your account balance on the date of the 61st day and monthly onwards until you resume your account activity, or until the balance reaches zero.

  • We never charge any fees for making a deposit. However, when it comes to the banks and/ or intermediaries banks, processing fees may apply, and if you are charged by a third party, we don't accept any responsibility for these fees.

  • Platinum account holders are granted their first withdrawal free of charge. A service fee of 3.5% is charged on all other withdrawals. In the event that this percentage equals an amount of 30 or below, the trader will be charged a standard 30 withdrawal fee. The maximum service fee for a single withdrawal is capped at 3,500. Service fees for wire withdrawals will be charged to the beneficiary. Additionally, the commissions of wire withdrawals will be charged to the beneficiary. Click here for a full description of withdrawal terms and methods.

  • Maintenance fees are a monthly account charge encompassing all services and features available for traders. Starting from the initial trade an investor executes, a monthly maintenance fee of 20 (USD, GBP, EUR) will be charged to the trading account on the last day of the month. If you begin trading after the 1st day of the month, you will then be prorated for the remaining fees, in accordance with how many days remain in the month.

  • Trading on Absolut Ability platform is subjected to a profit clearance fee. It applies to successful trades or those sold for profit. The fee is variable and depends on the profit volume generated from each position ranging between a minimum of 1.50 and maximum of 5.00 per trade:
    250 or less = 1.50
    251 – 500 = 2.00
    501 – 1,000 = 3.00
    1,001 – 2,500 = 4.00
    2,501 or more = 5.00
These sums refer to the currency used in your account (USD, GBP, EUR).

    2. Click "Withdraw" on the main WebTrader page

  • If you've got any positions opened, you'll not be able to withdraw your entire Available Balance. You're going to need a minimum amount to maintain and cover your Maintenance Margin. You can calculate your Maintenance Margin using this formula:

Available Balance – Maintenance Margin and if the margin > = 1% = Max Withdrawal Amount

Another reason can be an incomplete account verification. Your trading account must be fully verified prior to you making a withdrawal request. To verify your trading account please check out what documents are missing for your account verification with our customer support via email [email protected] or our excellent Live Chat support.

  • We normally process all withdrawals instantly, however, we always tell our traders that withdrawal requests can take up to five business days to process. Sometimes, there are delays that are completely beyond our control. For instance, these delays might occur due to third party withdrawal payment methods such as the credit card company, the wiring bank or intermediary banks can also delay transfers, and in some extreme cases, it can take up to 3 weeks to process your withdrawal request.

  • We return your funds via the same method you originally made your deposit in. For instance, let's say you deposited funds into your trading account via credit card. Any withdrawal amounts will be returned to that specific credit card. Likewise, if a deposit was made via bank transfer, the withdrawals will be transferred back to your bank account. Other deposits made by eWallets will be returned as a bank transfer or by the Skrill/ Netteler eWallet.

  • Don't worry as all you need to do is to follow the withdrawal procedure. • Our Billing Department processes and approves most withdrawal requests within 3-4 business days. It may take additional time for your chosen payment service provider to complete the transfer process.
Please note: For additional security, you must confirm any withdrawal with your account manager.
